Hello,
Over 30 years ago I was the president of the Downtown Business Association and I organized a committee to work on amalgamating the municipalities. I brought in representatives from all the communities and held meetings to show the benefits of amalgamating. At that time the population was much smaller, but even with such a small population, it was impossible to budge these politicians into co-operating with each other.
I am very happy to see that your group has formed, I will be signing the petition and I want to send a cheque for $100 to assist with this cause. Please let me know what address to send the cheque to, and who to make it out to.
Good luck with your work in making amalgamation possible, it is only the actual citizens that can make this happen. Please put me on you email list so I can be kept up to date with events.
